1. Introduction & Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions govern all cleaning services provided by Proper Cleaning to clients in Auckland,
New Zealand. By booking or accepting a quote from Proper Cleaning, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
These Terms apply to: (a) commercial and office cleaning services, and (b) end of tenancy cleaning services.
2. Quotations & Bookings
All quotations are valid for 14 days from the date of issue and are based on information supplied by the Client.
All quoted prices are exclusive of GST; 15% GST will be added at invoicing. Final pricing may be adjusted if the
scope of work materially differs from what was described at quoting.
A booking is confirmed only when you receive written confirmation from Proper Cleaning. We reserve the right to
decline any booking at our discretion.
For end of tenancy cleans, the property must be fully vacated and accessible at the agreed time. Delays caused
by the Client may incur additional charges (exclusive of GST, plus 15% GST).
3. Payment Terms
Commercial clients are invoiced after each service, with payment due within 7 days unless otherwise agreed in
writing. End of tenancy cleans require full payment upon completion.
We accept payment by bank transfer or other methods as agreed. All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD)
and are exclusive of GST. GST at 15% will be added to all invoices and is payable by the Client in addition to
the quoted amount.
Overdue accounts may incur an interest charge of 2% per month on the outstanding balance (inclusive of GST).
We reserve the right to suspend services on accounts overdue by more than 14 days.
4. Commercial Cleaning Services
Regular commercial cleaning schedules will be agreed in writing, including frequency, scope, and access
arrangements. Changes to the agreed schedule must be notified at least 48 hours in advance.
The Client is responsible for ensuring safe and unobstructed access to all areas to be cleaned. Secure areas
requiring special access must be arranged prior to the scheduled service.
Proper Cleaning will supply all necessary materials and equipment unless otherwise agreed. Eco-friendly
products are used where possible.
We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, staining, or wear. Fragile or irreplaceable items should be
removed or secured by the Client before cleaning.
5. End of Tenancy Cleaning
Our end of tenancy service is designed to return the property to a professionally cleaned condition suitable for
inspection. The service covers agreed areas only as specified in your quote (exclusive of GST; 15% GST will be
added at invoicing).
A re-clean guarantee applies: if the property fails inspection due to a cleaning issue, we will return to rectify the
specific areas at no charge, subject to the following conditions:
• The re-clean request must be made in writing within 72 hours of the original clean.
• The property must not have been re-occupied or used between the initial clean and re-clean.
• The guarantee does not cover damage, items not in the original quote, or issues from the tenant's
belongings.
We are not responsible for deductions by landlords or property managers for reasons unrelated to cleaning
quality.
The Client must ensure utilities (electricity, hot water) are connected and operational at the time of the clean.
6. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Cancellations or rescheduling must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled service. Less than 48 hours
notice may incur a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the quoted price (exclusive of GST; 15% GST will be added).
Same-day cancellations or no-shows will be charged at 100% of the agreed service fee (exclusive of GST; 15%
GST will be added).
Proper Cleaning may reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. staff illness, equipment failure). We will
provide as much notice as possible and work with you on an alternative time.
7. Access & Client Responsibilities
The Client must ensure safe and timely access to the premises at the agreed time. Failure to provide access
may result in a cancellation fee.
You must notify us of any hazardous substances, fragile surfaces, or special requirements before the service.
We reserve the right to decline to clean any area we consider unsafe.
Any pets on the premises must be secured for the duration of the service.
8. Liability & Insurance
Proper Cleaning carries public liability insurance. In the event of damage caused by our negligence, our liability
is limited to the cost of repair or replacement, up to the value of the service provided (exclusive of GST), unless
otherwise required by New Zealand law.
We are not liable for: (a) pre-existing damage or wear; (b) damage from defective or unsecured fixtures; (c)
indirect or consequential losses; or (d) damage where access was restricted or not disclosed to us.
Damage claims must be reported in writing within 24 hours of the service.
9. Privacy
We collect and hold personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Your
information is used solely to provide our services and communicate with you. We do not sell or share it with third
parties except as required by law.

10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the
New Zealand courts.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act
1986.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be available at propercleaning.co.nz.
Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
